Zendo is OPEN – Masks optional – Stay home if you feel ill

We invite you to join us at the following times in person or by Zoom (also see Google Calendar at bottom of page): 

  • Introduction to Zazen, Tuesdays, 7:30PM to 8:45PM. (Optional Zoom Intro is offered by appointment.).
  • Daily Zazen (Seated Meditation) Monday – Friday, 5:30 AM, 1 hr; – Zoom Link
  • Monday & Wednesday evenings, 7:30 PM, 1 hr. – Zoom Link
  • Saturdays,  7:00 – 8:30 AM – Zoom Link – after Saturday zazen we offer Heart-Mind Council sharing.
  • Sundays, 6:30 PM, 1 hr.  – Zoom Link
  • Sunday Dharma Talk and Dialogue (usually the 1st and 3rd Sundays) 7:30 PM, 1 hr. – Zoom Link
  • BIPOC and Allies Sitting Group: Regularly scheduled meetings to be held on the first and third Sunday of each month, from 9:00-10:30 AM Pacific, in person at the zendo, and online as well.  Meetings are open to all BIPOC and allies.  They will encompass two rounds of zazen, followed by either a dharma dialogue, or dharma interviews.  For more information, please contact Rev.   • Women’s Meditation Circle (Suspened until further notice), Sundays, 2-3 PM: a space for meditation solely for those who identify as female. Please join us for an hour of  chanting, Zen sitting, tea and dialogue. You can bring your children as one of us will care for them in the Chobo-Ji lounge during our time together. If you have questions, please reach out to Anja. You can also join us online.
  • Sesshins (Quarterly week-long retreats) Last week in March, June, Sept., & 1st week of Dec.
  • Zazenkai (Half day retreats with breakfast, Dharma Talk and Dharma Interview.) 5 – 11:15 AM, Sundays:  1/11/26 (use this link only if attending by Zoom),  2/8/26, 3/8/26 …
  • Summer and Winter Odayaka Sesshins (three-day Zen retreats with a more relaxed schedule – see calendar below)
 

Spring Sesshin: March 20-27, 2026

We welcome both in-person and Zoom participation at our week-long Spring Sesshin. For in-person participation, please fill out an application by March 10. Full attendance is expected: speak to Genjo if this is not possible. If attending on-line you will need to register for Zoom.

The cost of sesshin is $360, minus dues for March. If attending by Zoom please make a donation that fits your budget and level of participation. We can provide sleeping accommodation for those traveling from out of town (an additional $10 – $20 per night); please bring a sleeping bag, toiletries, sitting clothes, work clothes, and a towel.

Sesshin starts Friday evening, March 20, at 5:30 p.m., with introductions, orientation, and informal supper. From Saturday through the following Thursday, sesshin runs from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Sesshin Schedule)  The final Friday begins at 5:00 a.m. and concludes around 11:00 a.m.
